Expozitia de grup IdentitA-E-R Trei - Galeria9, Brașov

The exhibition "IdentitA-E-R Trei" at Gallery 9 in Brașov, through its very title, presents a cryptic, poetic formula woven around three pillars—three important contemporary artists: Alia Bakutayan, Elena Ilash, and Roxana Donaldson. Artists with their own multifaceted visual languages and distinct expressions, the three explore and reinterpret the feminine archetype. Beyond a simple juxtaposition of artworks, the exhibition proposes a mapping of feminine identity through the symbols of sacred geometry—the square, the sphere, and the triangle—which serve as starting points for introspection, as well as a visual and conceptual journey.

Alia Bakutayan, through the sheer force of fragility, succeeds in materializing the concept of spiritual rebirth at the stage of maturity—"Resting in the Trust." In her minimalist works, which exude an overwhelming vulnerability, she integrates her prayers and experiences alongside the perishable materials used, in an almost therapeutic manner, transfiguring them through delicate, ephemeral mediums and imprinting them with sacredness. Emotions are converted into tangible forms within a universal dialogue about the pursuit of wisdom and a connection with the divine. The square represents the sacred, protected space where the spirit rests and regenerates. Cyclic waves are formative; their results are palpable, tactile, and visible even to the sightless. They erase or add value, blur intentions, reformulate interests, and mark trends, while the end always remains unknown—a variable in time. Yet, we possess the tangible joy of the present and the memory of past experiences. We are a loop in time, framed within a sacred, stable, perhaps even predetermined space. The materiality of her works becomes physical evidence of passage—the imprint left by experience upon matter.
